About Short Moves Inc. :
We started our business with 1 truck in February 1990. George Burns is the guy that started it all. George had a goal of treating people how he wanted to be treated and running an honest business. To this day George has maintained the reputation of Short Moves as the most hard-working, trusting, reliable, and consistent moving company in Florida. His son Steve Burns started working with the company in 2010 and continues the same traditions. In 2011 we started our resale store, Consignment House, ran by Sherry Burns, George's wife. The Burns family and the entire Short Moves team knows moving, and how to do a job so nice that you will want to tell everyone how great it was. That's how we are a business built by repeat & referral customers.

We never overbook our schedule, some companies book as many jobs as they possibly can and then cancel the smaller jobs or use day- labor. We won't leave you hanging, Since 1990 we have made every scheduled move!

It takes a great crew to make a great company. We have some movers on our crew that have been with our company over 10 years. We never send any temporary or day labor workers. Every employee we send into your home has passed a nationwide background check.
We come equipped
We have a fleet of 26' moving trucks, stocked with all the essentials.
We come with dollies, stretch wrap, furniture bands, moving pads, wardrobe boxes, speed packs, mattress carriers, the list goes on. The best part is... We dont charge you a bunch of fees for all that stuff, its all just there to help us complete your move the best way we can!
If we mess up, we take care of it.
One of the biggest differences with moving companies is what will they do if they break or damage anything? People are wary of moving companies beause most handle their damages poorly.
Ask us how we handle damage claims. We do not charge our employees for the damages unlike some companies, our crew will not make you feel bad about our mistakes. Our goal is to have a happy customer at the end of every move day.
If we damage something on our jobs we offer to have the damage repaired. If we cannot repair a damaged item, we pay our customer up to the current market value for the item, with few limitations. We want our customer to be satisfied with how we handled the accident. (We don't pay you "Pennies-Per-Pound" like some companies do!)
We don't play games with your money
We charge an hourly rate, only for the time we are with you - Your clock starts when we arrive, we work hard until the move is done, at that point we charge you to the quarter hour we are working in. We only have a 1 hour minimum. Our prices are based on how many men you need and how far you are moving.
